The chaos in my homeland during Typhoon Haiyan...

The thing's I've been reading on my facebook newsfeed...I've had enough...

I haven't been ranting as much as anybody else about Typhoon Yolanda (International code Typhoon Haiyan)...I read lots and lots of news articles, watch the news every day, when I open my facebook I am bombarded by anything about it.  My heart is relieved that my family back home is safe because they were far away from the path of the typhoon, but I am devastated by what happened to the rest of my countrymen.
It's all just total chaos, everyone is mad, everyone's pointing fingers at each other, there's looting, there's rape, there's people slashing kids, people dying because of lack of food or medical aid.  It is WAY worse than the scenario in the show The Walking Dead...cuz the victims of the typhoon literally are walking dead...their lifelines are decreasing as time goes...

but I am dismayed the most...by the lack of leadership.  It's been a week and still I have not seen one person be THE KEY PERSON in sorting out this chaos...to me that is not acceptable...

Hindi naman sa nagmamagaling, alam ko naman na nurse lang ako, pero pag nasa trabaho ako at nka-assign sa akin ang mga tao, buhay nila ang nkasalalay sa akin.  When shit flies off the walls, I drop everything else STAT and respond to the situation, I am expected to stay rational and not panic, I am expected to assess the situation immediately and determine what the priorities are and then intervene...

but it has been seven days, and I have yet to see the president of the Philippines stick out as commanding force in the mobilization of recovery.  I have yet to see anyone stick out as a sore thumb and be the leader who will lead all.  Instead there's all these news about downplaying the casualties, downplaying the damages done, there's even an idiot saying we don't need that many nurses and doctors, and they have it all under control.  These so called 'leaders' are sticking out more like clowns and the more they open their mouths the more you realize how incompetent they are.  More talk less work.  Yes, we are SO fucked.  And there's news about donations being taxed, and that it has to go to a certain  channel to ensure the delivery of goods goes to who needs them...but these channels are so restrictive...are they gonna make people wait for another fuckin' week...like seriously?!?!?! So now there's just people doing their own thing, dropping goods anywhere, just doing their own thing...

Even the presidential hopefuls for 2016? nah... there's nobody...people all by themselves running around like zombies...there's not even a martial law declared...

All I hear in the news is foreign aid...national aid...other cities, towns and provinces sending relief goods and monetary aid... that, I've been grateful...but I have yet to hear from someone on the cellular level demonstrate their leadership over the people... Even the mayor of Tacloban..barely a squeak...

Did all the Filipinos who had leadership capabilities die during the typhoon?  This is like the best time for a leader to show what (s)he can do!

Even the men, I am so frustrated...WHY THE RAPE? The women are already struggling with surviving the typhoon, and they get victimized some more?? like WHAT KIND OF SICK FUCKS ARE YOU?!  In case of emergency THE MEN are supposed to be protecting the women...

We can't even bury our dead because of open gunfire...Why is there no military control???

Why does the Philippines not have a commander-in-chief??

Do we have to wait for international aid to organize us because we don't have leaders even within ourselves?

And above all, if there's no person to foresee us all, why have people turned godless in the face of disaster?  This is a Catholic nation for goodness' sake! What the hell happened to 'Thou shall not steal' and 'Thou shall not kill'??!!

Geocoins and Trackables on Instagram

Been seeing some people share trackables on Instagram, and I thought that's really cool...you can log them in that you discovered them, much like when you're at an event...
